With the school year coming to an end, kids, teachers, and parents all surely need a break, and a time to enjoy some time off to celebrate how far they’ve come. We believe that the bigger the fun the better! However, it is important to continue doing some of the things kids do during the school year. that way children, don’t fall off track completely. This will also help them when they get back to school in september, as they will be able to transition smoothly. One way for kids to do so, is by continuing their reading. There are many different books and novels that children can read in the summer . the genre, or type of book does not have to be something specific, as long as kids are reading, understanding the text and enjoying it too.

it’s key to make it a routine, so that kids know when to expect to read, and to pick books that are engaging for them. every kid is different, but asking for their input can also motivate them. kids can pick out the books they want to read for the summer which only makes it more fun for them and more likely they will complete their reading. A reading log would be effective for this so that kids and parents can keep track of this.
