Hello everyone and welcome! I am Mrs. Demergis (Georgia) and welcome to my website! I am an Elementary Teacher, Children’s Book Author, and TPT Creator. I am Greek-American, and have a love for family and friends. I enjoy cooking while listening to really good music. I am somewhat obsessed with books and literature but I am sure you’re saying ”Of-course! You’re a teacher!”

And truthfully, I have always wanted to be a teacher, since I was a little girl. During recess, I used to write on the whiteboard in class, and pretend to teach the younger kids. I must have been good because they wanted me to tutor them after school! I still have the books I used to teach them with. It was fun and at the same time incredibly satisfying to know what I want to do from such a young age. While many of my friends changed profession every grade, I always stuck to the same old thing, ”I want to be a teacher”! And, I did. 🙂

My favorite subject in school was English. From writing essays to reading passages in class and analyzing literature, everything was enjoyable to me. It all tied together and made sense, as I became an Educator with a B.A in English Literature later on in life. I graduated from MSU and as I begun working in the field, I realized that I loved working with grades K-6 the most, steering me to become an Elementary teacher!

During these last couple of years, I have become a wife and mom as well, which can definitely keep a girl busy! But I have to say, it inspired me even more, which is why I never stopped following my heart and doing what I love. I have published holiday children’s books during the last couple of years including: Penny’s Picnic, Suzette The Spider Has a Sweet Tooth, and Riley the Reindeer Rings the Bell. I hope to continue writing books and sharing positivity with every single one.

For years now I have also focused on teaching and sharing materials through TPT and other digital platforms. I love hearing positive feedback from other teachers regards to my resources. It truly puts a smile on my face to hear that students had a good day in class because of something I created! I find that with technology kids today, can become so lost and distracted, as adults can too. However, it is up to us educators to put out as many positive and engaging materials we can and enhance the digital world with a love for learning for all.

And that’s what I hope to share with you all with my ELA resources- a love for learning on how to read, write and truly understand a story and an author’s intent because once you do, you will be having those ”aha” moments a lot more often than you think! And authors send many messages all of us can benefit from, you just have to try a little in order to find them! And so I will see you all next time, but not before I share one of my favorite quotes. . . .

”The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” -Dr. Seuss

With love,
